Group Life at Trinity 

Small Groups provide a place to build friendships, grow in faith toward God, and expand God’s work in your life. There are 3-ways to sign up:  Weekend Services by filling out the connection card; Online; or Call Us at 985-893-0218. 

Affinity Groups: Bring people together around gender, marriage, or interest for fellowship, Bible study, prayer, support, and service. 

Alpha Groups: Engages Christians and non-Christians together in ongoing spiritual discussions through the Alpha Course. 

Discipleship Groups: Pinpoint specific core truths of the Christian faith.  

Equipping Groups: Prepares believers for service in the body of Christ. 

Serving Groups:  Puts gifts and passion into action. 

Support Groups: Provide support and encouragement in the challenges of daily living. 

Student Groups: Engages students in community and discussion of God’s Word. 

Young Adult Groups: Engages college age to twenty somethings in community and discussion of scripture. 

 

AFFINITY GROUPS 

Couples Groups

Develop deeper relationships other couples while studying, praying and supporting one another in Christ. Groups form through relational affinity, interest, and/or signups. Indicate COUPLES on Sunday’s Connection Card to sign up. 

Men

Men’s groups bring men together to sharpen one another in the faith and its practice. Men’s groups build comradery, pray and study Scripture together, and support each other. Groups form through relational affinity, interest, and/or signups. Indicate MEN on Sunday’s Connection Card to sign up. 

Women

Women’s groups bring women together for fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and support. Women’s groups build caring relationships that support one another in their walk with Christ and in their knowledge and application of God's Word. 

Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed: A study of David

Teacher: Julie Miller – 892-0679

Bible teachers Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer and Kay Arthur will lead us through the Bible and the life of David. David was anointed, but he made mistakes.  And though he was redeemed – he still wrestled with the choices he made, but he was transformed - and we can be, too! Meets for 8-wks on Tuesdays from 9:30am-11:00am. Begins January 26th in the main building Rm-4. Cost is $13. Be Confident: A study of Hebrews by Warren Wiersbe

Hebrews was written to Christians wondering what to do when their life as they knew it was shaken.  As the stability of the old was passing away, their faith was wavering. Come learn how the message of confidence in Hebrews can help you in today's changing and challenging times. Meets for 12-wks on Tuesdays from 9:30am-11:30am. Begins January 26th in FDC Rm-1. Breaking Free: The Journey, The Stories by Beth Moore

Teacher: Andrea Toups – 246-9570

Beth Moore leads you through a study of the Scriptures to discover the transforming power of Christian freedom. Based on Isaiah 61:1-4, this in-depth Bible study draws parallels between the captive Israelites and today's believers. Beth uses Scripture to help identify spiritual strongholds in your life, no matter how big or small. She explains that anything that hinders us from the benefits of knowing God is bondage. Meets for 11-wks on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm. Begins January 27th in the main building Rm-7. Cost is $15. Conversations – join the conversation!

Facilitators:  Aimee Barrios and Debbe Bollinger

Are you tired of trying to earn what you already have?  Do you find yourself resisting the truth that God’s love is based on absolutely nothing you have done?  Are you ready to wrestle with ideas like the perilous freedom of His undeserved love? Join Aimee Barrios and Debbe Bollinger for a challenging and thought-provoking conversation! Meets for 10-wks on Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00am. Begins January 27th in the main building Rm-7. Book of Isaiah

Facilitator:  Marlene Flot – 892-6030

Do you feel like your life has no value—that you are just a number? Do you believe you are too ungifted and untalented to be of value at church? Do you think you are unredeemable? This study will open the eyes of your heart so that you may know “the hope of His calling. Meets Fridays 5:30-7:00am at Northlake Christian School. ALPHA GROUPS

Alpha groups engage non-Christians and Christians together in non-threatening, ongoing spiritual discussions in a comfortable informal gathering. These groups utilize the Alpha course as a tool for effective relational evangelism. Training will equip you to effectively participate in these groups. DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS

Discipleship groups pinpoint specific core truths of the Christian faith. These groups help believers grow in the spiritual disciplines, doctrine, stewardship, worldview, evangelism, and their application. 

Crown Life-Groups

Crown teaches people God’s financial principles in order to know Christ more intimately and to be free to serve Him. In this 10-wk small group study you will learn what God has to say about money and possessions, develop a mindset of stewardship, and get closer to God, your spouse and others in the group. Time and Place to be determined by the group, but often on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday nights. Contact Bill Magee at 985-809-8082 for more information. Lifestyle Discipleship

Lifestyle Discipleship is a great way to develop spiritual maturity while walking together with a small group. Usually meeting in groups of 3, new believers increase in the unchanging truth of God’s Word while others are challenged to become reproducers of the Christian faith. The Truth Project, Focus on the Family

The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 12 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. Each lesson discusses the importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life. Contact Earl Bollinger at 985-373-8025 for more information. Dig Deeper on Sundays

Grow in your knowledge of Scripture and its application by taking part in a Sunday morning Bible Study. These groups dig deeper into books of the Bible by studying them from start to finish. Watch the Thursday email, Sunday bulletin, and TNN for information on content. No signup is necessary to participate. Everyone is welcome.  

EQUIPPING GROUPS 

Becoming a Contagious Christian

The Contagious Christian seminar is a proven one-day course that will equip you for to share your faith in today’s world. It avoids stereotyped approaches that feel awkward and intimidating and instead shows how you can share the Gospel in a natural and powerful way. Crown Money Map Coach Training

Many Christians are experiencing financial problems and are looking for help. Crown trains you to become a Money Map Coach to help people develop a personal budget, apply biblical principles of stewardship, build a plan to get out of debt, and achieve spiritual and financial freedom. Contact Bill Magee at 985-809-8082 for more information. SHAPE Workshop

The SHAPE workshop is a whole person discovery tool that will help you understand your role in the community of faith. Once you discover God’s grace to you in this way, you can interview with coaches who will help place you in ministry. We encourage everyone at Trinity to take SHAPE as they launch into ministry. Trinity101

Attending Trinity101 solidifies your membership at Trinity and gives you a good overview of our history and doctrine. It also gives you information about ways to connect in a group and contribute to our work in Christ. In addition, there are question and answer opportunities throughout our time together to help clarify information you may be seeking. Whether you’ve been at Trinity a short time or for some time, Trinity101 can help you find meaningful involvement. SERVING GROUPS

These groups put gifts and passion into action. Are you gifted in hospitality, care, workmanship, or other gifts to be used at Trinity or as outreach? Does your current small group want to engage in service in a particular area? Indicate SGN on Sunday’s Connection Card to sign up. 

STUDENT GROUPS

Crown Money Map

With the struggles relative to the economy and our culture, many Christians are experiencing financial problems regarding debt and other stewardship issues. Crown's trained Money Map Coaches work with married couples and individuals, helping them develop a personal budget, apply biblical principles of stewardship, build a plan to get out of debt, and achieve spiritual and financial freedom. Trinity Church has trained Money Map Coaches who are available to assist you in learning God’s financial principles and applying them to your specific situation. Contact Bill Magee at 985-809-8082 for more information. MOPs

MOPS is like a breath of fresh air for moms. It’s a place for rest, relaxation and encouraging relationships. It’s a place for you to learn from others during this sometimes crazy, yet critical stage of mothering. We’re here to come alongside you during this season of motherhood and to provide you with support and resources to be a great mom. Meets 3rd Thursdays of the month September through May.  Our Story Matters-God, Family and Me

Have you had time amid the hurry and scurry of recovery and the hustle and bustle of life to reflect on the effects of Katrina and how God has been at work shaping who you are today through it all? Our Story Matters is a 6-wk small group opportunity that helps adults do just that.  It offers the opportunity to both reflect on your personal story around Katrina and to preserve it through the venue of:

* Oral conversation in a small group                * Journaling

* A scrapbook                                                     * Poignant pictures    

Meets for 6-wks on Mondays from 11:00am-12:30pm, or Sundays from 9:30-10:45am in Rm-4. Begins February 1st, Mondays, and February 7th, Sundays. YOUNG ADULT GROUPS
